Tet is one of the most important celebrations in our country. Tet usually starts on the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar.
Before Tet, people make good preparations for it. Houses are repainted or cleaned and decorated with beautiful things such as apricot blossoms and other flowers. People usually buy things for Tet and send greeting cards or presents to their relatives and friends.
During Tet, people enjoy traditional food such as banh tet, candied fruit and traditional drink, ruou de. On the first day of Tet, people usually go to church or pagoda to pray for the new year, and visit their dears and relatives. They wish each other a “Happy New Year". On the second and third days, people go to visit friends, neighbors, and their former teachers. I like Tet very much because I can enjoy the atmosphere of love and care of my parents. I realize how important and meaningful to me the familial love is!
